Gay Marshall presents her electrifying concert of the music of Édith Piaf. Considered a foremost interpreter of Piaf's music, Marshall weaves the original French lyrics with her own English adaptations, making this an event for French speakers and non-French speakers alike. The music includes the known (La Vie en Rose and L’Accordeoniste) and the rare (Avec Ce Soleil and The Lady From Pigalle). This is not an impersonation.
“An enchanting performer who sings with heart stirring transparency and possesses some of Piaf’s spirit as well as the throbbing mixture of steel and cotton in the voice.” – Charles Isherwood, The New York Times.
Marshall left the role of Morales in 'A Chorus Line' on Broadway to move to Paris and learn French. While getting to know Piaf's collaborators, She originated the role of Grizabella in the French production of Cats, and married 'Man on Wire' accomplice, photographer Jean-Louis Blondeau. She appeared in La Cage Aux Folles as Jacqueline.
